Envy Phoenix 810 Desktop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

How long can i run my Envy Phoenix 810 Desktop, about 3years old, at one time?

After i hurt my back at work i have had to learn new passions. My wife suggested digital photography and also so very minor video editing. Its great for distraction from back pain but i spend hours and hours on my pc working on projects..... sometimes i have had the pc running for 8 or10 or 14 Hours (or more!) without a stop!! Is that dangerous for my pc?! How many hours straight can i use my pc to process images--SAFELY!?!  i try to keep my pc room cool by leaving the window open during long sessions.... what is a good operating temperature for my pc? Any help would be greatly appreciated. At this point in life i cant afford to buy another pc so i really need to take very good care of this one! Thanks (Ahead of Time).

Hi,

We actually have many machines run for 5 years (even over) continously. We can keep your machine runs few days. For rendering videos which may take up to 14 hrs or 20 hrs, my suggestion is to take your machine off the internet.

Regards.

My first worry is that the three-year-old disk-drive is "out-of-warranty".

Keep good backup files, and think seriously about replacing it within 2 years.

My second worry is your eye-sight.  Take hourly breaks away from staring at your computer-screen, to prevent eye-strain.

I have one older laptop running Windows Vista.

I have to let it run for 4 or 5 days, once a month, to allow Windows Update to complete.

For some reason, unknown to me, Windows Update within Vista is *EXTREMELY* slow.

There's lot of online commentary on this problem, but nobody seems to have an answer.

Anyway, Microsoft's support for Vista ends on April 11, 2017 -- next week!
