Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Audio issues since upgrading to Windows 10. IDT High Definition Audio Driver 'not migrating'. No audio.

Cannot find High Definition Audio Driver, only IDT High definition Audio Driver. So cannot load MS driver. Questions are,

1. Where can I download the standard High Definition Audio Driver?

2. What are specs for main board Audio card? Currently driving a 5.1 Boston model BA735 3 speaker system on one cable with digital input on 3.5mm jacks.

Thanks,

Hi:

See if this W10 Tempo/Beats audio driver resolves the problem.  Install and restart the PC.

This package provides the IDT Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.

File name: sp71717.exe

If that doesn't work, then try this next approach...

Go to the device manager and click to expand the Sound, video and game controllers device category.

1. Select IDT High Definition Audio CODEC under that category.

2. Select the Driver tab.

3. Click on Update Driver... button.

4. Select  -> Browse my computer for driver software.

5. Select -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

6. Select  High Definition Audio Device (Not  IDT High Def...  this is important.) and click Next.

A warning message may appear,  but click Yes.

7. Windows has successfully updated your driver software.

8. Restart the PC.

 The key is step 6.

Hi.

Welcome to the forum flagstaffman.

For your computer there are only drivers for the versions of windows 8 and 8.1:http://support.hp.com/au-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-500-100-desktop-pc-series/5395585/model/...

Try this driver:High Definition Audio

I have tried this driver, which is the IDT High Definition Audio and it displays 'not migrated' error in Events when try to install in Windows 10. I am looking for the generic High Definition Audio Driver.  This is displayed on other Windows 10 PCs , but not this one. Maybe need to reinstall Windows 10 from scratch.

The Tempo driver Provost supplied worked. I looked on the website (Tempo took over IDT) but could not find a 64 bit driver. The driver installs without errors, but does not support digital speakers. Analog ones work great. Thanks for your help !
