Before Windows 10 upgrade,I could hold my cusor to the right of my screen and I would be shown options for turning off or putting my computer to sleep. After upgrade,I am unable to get this option to drop down. How do I turn off my computer or put it in sleep mode ?

That capability was known as the Charms Bar -- and MS removed that for Win10.
To turn off your PC now, you go into the Start Menu and you will see power options there -- select one of those.
Good Luck
