Installed new hard drive in my all-in-one. The old one died. Now I need the system recovery kit, found the downloads but of course I cannot do it with the HP desktop. Can I create a kit with other computer (DELL) and then use it in the HP? Thank you.

Hi:
If you have a plain W7 operating system disk from a Dell PC, you can use it on your HP PC and then use the product key from the sticker on your PC's case to activate the installation.
However, you would not be able to use a recovery disk set you created from a Dell PC on your HP.
That would check the PC and fail to install.
You can do this too...
This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download...

Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe
You can use either the:
Win 7 Home SP1 or the (Retail version, but the OEM key on your PC's case will work with it)
Win 7 Home SP1 COEM (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)
N is for European Union (EU) countries.
K is for South Korean markets.
Then you can use this tool to transfer the file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or a DVD.
