Powering Up and Then some

Hi,
Okay so I am pretty sure I may have ruined my laptop. I accidentally spilt a very small amount of barer on it. I then freaked out wiping it off, and in the process pushing a bunch of buttons. My laptop then said it had an error and would restart itself. When it did restart there was a black screen with white writing telling me I should visit said website to get help. And then I decided to take my battery out to set it in five or oats in case it was more wet than a initially assumed. I then discovered that I didn't have any, so I just wiped it off well and placed it back in. After I put my battery back in I was unable to get my laptop to power up. I left it charging over night hoping that might help, but it didn't. I have no clue what to do or what's wrong PLEASE help

Going through your post, I see that your HP notebook is not powering up anymore. I will certainly do my best to help you out of this situation 🙂 Let’s first perform a hard reset on your notebook. Here are the steps:

• Make sure the laptop is turned off.
• Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
• Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
• Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
• With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
• Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
• Press the Power button to turn on the computer and check.

If the issue persists, then the issue could be either with the battery or with the notebook. Remove the battery, connect the power cord and see if the notebook powers on. Also, go to http://hp.care/2bQHDtg and follow the steps under “The computer does not receive power (no noise or lights)”.

I would suggest contacting the HP phone support if you still cannot get the notebook powered on. You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.
