I have the same problem, but I have a hp Paviilion dv7 1183cl.  the software installed was Windows Vista home premium 64 bit addition. Do you think they might have this still. I do not mind getting a new operating system, but I want to make sure that the one I get, activates the TV Turner, etc., that came with the already installed software. My hard-drive had to be totally erased as a virus REALLY goofed it up. I could find no one who could fix it without erasing it.

 

Thanks for any help or info.
