Have a clean install of Windows 7 on my HP Media Centre PC.  This has removed all the data including programs from my hard drive.

Before doing this I backed up using Roxio BackUp MyPC 7 on to an HP Media drive.

I copied sp25942 and tried running it to install the application back on my hard drive.

It stated eligible for Windows Vista with no mention of Windows 7 but thought I would give it a try anyway.

Error Message came up saying -

Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update.

Update has been cancelled. (9998)

Is there a version now available that works on Windows 7?

Hi,

There's no update for Windows 7 but there's a way to run this software. Install WinRAR (please google it) and right click and on the sp26942 and extract it. THen go on to the source folder and run the setup.exe

Hi

Thanks for your response.

I got around this problem by starting from the beginning and restoring the pc back to it's factory settings with Vista installed.  I then installed Roxio BackUp MyPC using sp26942.  Restored all my files and then upgraded to Windows 7.

7-zip also works. You have to dig down into a folder to find setup.exe.

Otherwise - Great Answer! Saved my life!

I know this is an old thread. But, I have the same problem. However, the dowload of the sp26942 is not zipped. Am I doing the wrong download? I have the rar downloaded.

Hi Jerry - what you have downloaded is a compressed file from which you need to extract all the files. I don't have the original download any more but if it ends in .exe then you can use winzip or any lookalike to uncompress it. Make sure you take any option to preserve the folder structure.

You will find the setup.exe program in the folder called source which you will see after the extraction process has completed.

Good luck!

What is sp26942?

My HP Pavilion with Vista died and I cannot read my qic backup files. I finally found someone with a Vista machine (a Dell laptop with Vista Business on it). And I have my original Vista drive, which has Roxio's Backup MyPC on it.

How can I somehow access the files in my *.qic backups?

oh! i found the file and got the backup progrm working. many thanks.
