I'm just wondering where to find the settings that would adjust/turn off lights that are on my tower.  Or am I stuck using a winter hat to cover it up for the rest of my life, lol.  Thanks.

Hi,

From the following front, which ligh or lights are you talking about ?

Worse case, a black piece of tape (such as electrical tape) could fix it/them

They are; the Power Button (top right of pic), and the strip at the top (above the memory card slots).  Both are blue in the picture.

Hi,

As mentioned before, a black tape can do. They are very normal lights therefore vendors (including HP) keep them alive.

Lowest tech: As "Red Green" says, "duct tape -- the handyman's secret weapon".

High tech: while the computer is on, gently remove the side-panel,

and look at a pair of twisted wires originating "somewhere" on the motherboard and going toward the front panel.

Remove the front-panel, to see the colours of the "twisted-pairs" of wires that lead to the lamps.

Trace that "twisted-pair" to the motherboard, and just pull the end away from the motherboard, and check that the light goes out.  Remember exactly where that end was, so that you can reconnect the wires, if you accidentally pulled-off the "wrong" pair.
