Did HP send us the wrong USB recovery install on this stick, marked "A5U99AV" ? My previous post was sooo long winded, I don't blame you all if you havn't the patience to read it all.
Let me distill the subject to a few Questions/Talking Points here:
I suspect the USB recovery stick I purchased is not for my computer.
OR...Do I need to create the recovery partition on the "replacement" HD, and also an unnamed 100mb partition manually in order for this to work?
This P7-1107c boots from Legacy BIOS, the way we got it. I loaded Linux Mint to check everything out, but I expect to wipe it out in the recovery process. On BIOS Setup, the HD only shows up as a Legacy choice on the boot order menu. BUT... One of the TWO sets of instructions YOU (HP) sent me directs me to choose the "UEFI-USB/DVD" boot choice, which is NOT available!
I am wondering if it is possible to MANUALY EXTRACT the required files and load them onto a bootable set of two DVDs, (ISO?) or UEFI? I "can" select the DVD drive under the Boot Order menu for UEFI or Legacy Bios boot, though the origional configuration is Legacy.
OR... How do I return the USB stick and get my money back if someone doesn't help me out here? I am being helpful and reasonable (up to a certain point?!)
See my previous post under "holmziep" and I am sorry it is sooo long. I am new to this begging for help thing. We want our Win7! We want our HP p7-1107c recovered or we want our $ 50.00+ back for the recovery stick that doesn't work.
I appreciate your response and effort.

P.S. It is not "optimal" to open another thread on the same topic, given that you were told in the first thread that HP would be contacting you.
