Hello,

Has anyone ran into this error when using the HP Recovery Media?

I replaced my hard drive and when reloading the software I get this error near the end of the recovery.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

So the HP recovery fails?

Do you have any additional USB devices connected when doing the HP recovery? Have you added any hardware?

Just do a clean Windows 10 install by going here (Link). Do this download a on a different PC. Set it up to install on any PC.

Create Windows USB installation media.

Only use a mouse and keyboard during the installation.

Boot to this media. Do a Custom install.

Select "I don't have a product key".

Windows 10 will activate post installation when connected to the internet.

Regards

Hi, @Rick6138

If you do the clean install, I have zipped up and attached below the driver you need for that device.

You have to manually install the driver as follows...go to the device manager.  Click on the unknown HPIC0003 device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.

Then restart the PC.
