When i go into "This PC" there is  new item  - SYSTEM (Z:).    When I click on it,  it says I do not have permission to access the folder but I can click continue to access it.  What is this and how did it get onto my PC?  Should I access the folder?

Hi

I refer you to the answer I gave earlier

Hi

No do not access it.

It is, I believe, the result of an update that has 'added' a previously hidden partition with recovery data on to your list of available drives.

I cannot tell you how to change it, because if it is system critical, in the event of a failure then any changes by you could render it unusable.

Thanks for the advice.  I won't access it.  Can I delete it?  If so how and will I cause any problems?

Did you recently activate a version of Microsoft Office?

If so it will place that item in a virtual drive like you see.  When I had MS Office starter installed on my

Pavilion Desktop it placed the program in virtual drive Q.  Sounds like a "click 2 install" program.

Hi no I haven't activated a version of Microsoft office.  But there  have been updates installed on my existing version of office (which is an old one!!)
