HP Slimline Desktop - 450-a125
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm not sure what is going on with Windows 10. Until a couple of days ago my PC was fine, then edge disappeared from my Start menu as did all of my Tiles. Edge also disappeared form my Task Bar. It is still on my PC somewhere because it remains my default browser and starts from hyperlinks. If I minimise Edge, there is now way I can call it back. I have been on the Microsoft site and used the available tools but no faults were identified.  Furthermoe, I tried to use HP Help and Support but that seems to have disappeared from my PC as well.  I'm not having a good time at the moment.

Thank you for trying to help me.

Microsoft Edge is not in my start menu.

Tried your links, first one did nothing at all.

Second one got me going but on trying to deleted the folder I had an error message staing I needed permission from "me".

I tried to rename the folder but was greeted with an error message sating that the folder was open in another programme.

I can't see how to put a screen shot on this message to show you my problem.

Thanks

Hi,

Please press Win key. Scroll down, you can see Windows Edge on the list. You can re-pin it to the Taskbar

Hi, Edge is not showing on that dropdown, that is the problem really. If I can find edge I can sort the rest of it I think.

Hi,

Not Edge but Microsoft Edge

If still can't find it, please re-install it

Click the "Start" button.

A field will open up.

Type 'snip' into that field, to launch the Windows "Snipping Tool".

Use your mouse to hightlight a rectangle on your screen.

Click 'File' and 'Save As', and type a name for the file.

Close the "Snipping Tool".

In this forum, click the icon that is two-to-the-right of the "happy-face".

Select that "screen-capture" file, and "insert" it.

I tried again and this time everthing worked. I now have Edge on my start menu and my task bar and it seems to running fine.

Thank you for your advice.

I note that as I pen this, a new version of HP Support Assistant is installing.

Thanks for the information, I wasn't aware of the "Snip" tool.

My problem seems to be resolved now but will bank the info for any future need.
