I have been told by a computer tech that for more speed I needto upgrade my RAM to 4 gigs. Can this machine be upgraded to that ?

According to the specs below, the max is 2 x 1 GB (2 GB TTL).

You're very welcome.

 

If you're not a the 2 GB level already, you can upgrade to the max.

 

It will help a bit if you still only have the stock 512 MB the PC originally came with.
