I originally contacted HP to update my Norton Anti-virus on my “NEW” HP computer. Upon contact the representative took over my computer and installed the Nortan Anti virus. They also sold me an extended warranty and hard drive disc. It simply did not make sense, if I did not have a hard drive-how would my computer be running. But, I bought it anyway. My concern also was backing up my files. The representative instructed me to put a disk in with blue side up. My driver started to make a lot of racket…it scared me…the disk would not come out. So, the instructed me to shut the computer down. At that time, the disk popped out. The representative said at no charge they would fix it for me. I sent the computer in. Upon receiving it back, the invoice said they had to replace the hard drive. This simply does not make sense!!! When I had called inquiring about my computer, a representative said there was nothing wrong with my computer. They simply wanted me to send computer in because I was uncomfortable with loading disk to back up files. Now, ALL my personal life pictures are GONE. I feel there has been a grave error at my expense and loss of memories!!! My personal files should have been saved to a disk before replacing any hard drives. And, why was it done if nothing was wrong with my computer as representative said when I called and checked status.
I feel somebody needs to be held accountable for these actions!!!!
I appreciate your immediate response to this matter!!!
