Changing BIOS

I have a new Pavilion P71287c, Windows 7 Home premium  64bit . Need to upgrade the OS to Professional.

Have purchased the upgrade. Following directions online at Windows 7.

One of the system check downloads was to ascertain that I had hardware-assisted virtualization.  The diagnostic I ran could tell me, 1) you don't have this feature; 2) the  hardware-assisted virtualization is not enabled. 3) it IS enabled. proceed with download.

I received message #2--"not enabled."

Went into BIOS to make the change, but can't find "Virtualization Technology."

Any suggestions how to enable this critical aspect?

Re: Changing BIOS

Hi:

I believe the setting is in the security menu.  See this related post with the picture.

Re: Changing BIOS

Thanks, Paul.

I found the place and enabled it. The Windows diagnostic, however, still says it's NOT enabled (after I set and save the BIOS change, shut down and restarted the computer].

I'll make an attempt in the Windows pages--tommorw....:smileyhappy:

Thanks again.
