Hi !
I have a new HP Pro 3400. Want to create a dual boot system Win7/XP with XP on a separate drive.
I created a new boot CD ( XP-SP3) using the instructions I found at http://www.mediafire.com/?r4nv9yrx99k0f3l.
I used that CD to install XP on my extra drive, with standard drive disconnected, and sata set to AHCI
Everything seemed to work OK until the final reboot of the new system.
Crashes during reboot.
Last output when in safe mode was "mup.sys"
Enabled bootlogging, but found no ntbtlog.txt file on the disk.
To me it seems like the system can access the disk at the early stage of boot, or when I check it using the recovery console. But after windows startup it fails.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
Post the HP product number for your PC. You might consider trying the HP Business Forum.
Your PC was not certified for XP and it never will be certified for XP.
Be sure to use a XP sp3 installation disk and also merge in the chipset driver which might not be available for XP. You will need to do some research. You need to create a hardware and software state such that XP will properly install. You might even need to make additional changes in the bios to accommodate legacy emulation if such settings are even available.
