Realtek drivers for XP Professional

I have been searching for realtek AC'97 (rtl8139) drivers for hp pavilion 743c to down load. when I try to select drivers from realtek.com  the numbers don't seem to match up and I don't won't to down load the incorrect ones. My research tells me this is what I need to restore the original audio drivers.

message says" No Audio Device".

Re: Realtek drivers for XP Professional

So .. if you go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ you should see a specific download for Realtek RTL8101L (this is what is shown for your motherboard).

When go through the link ends up as...

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=6&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTyp...

Re: Realtek drivers for XP Professional

Cheryl,

I know, at the minimum, the "combo" driver interacts with the sound driver. If you look at the Realtek white paper you will see that it lists AC'97 2.2 compliant under MC'97...

http://www.realtek.com.tw/products/productsView.aspx?Langid=1&PFid=6&Level=5&Conn=4&ProdID=15

It would be nice if both audio and modem/lan were bundled into the same download, but I suspect Realtek is keeping them separate due to size and availability concerns...not sure.
