factory image shows red with little to no space, how do I fix this?

Hi,

Do not use it for anything such as stroring downloaded files. Redirect downloaded files to other drive (space).

Hi, I have the same problem.

How do we redirect or save file to drive C? and not in Drive D, is it not done automatic?

No, saving a file to D: drive is not normally automatic, but may be option that was set at some time. Most files are automatic saved by Windows to the C: drive and you can use "save as" to put the downloaded file anywhere you want. If something is saving to D:, you need to identified what it is and stop it.

Thanks for your help. I checked the folders in my Drive (factory Images), almost all the folders are related to

Recovery or important for restore/recover process, but still it is red and almost full, making my computer slow, freezs,

and 'not responding' stages. I dont see any unrelated folders in D. I really dont know how to fix it. I wont give up though and keep trying.

Also, I noticed that the GB size allocation for drive D is really small (think its 7GB) as compare to drive C which is like 96GB. Can we change these size allocations?how? would it solve the problem?

correction:
drive D (factory_images)
is 8.72BG, while drive C(compaq c) is 289GB

Yaar,

Follow the links in my post on your thread. When starting the recovery from the DVDs, you should be able to select a "full recovery/restore". This should erase the entire hard drive and restore the OS to the C: partition and restore the recovery files to the D: partition. This is about as close to factory new as we can get it. Please back-up any of your important personal files to an external drive or media before performing the recovery.
