Hello rowaytonfuel,

If it is backing up your Internet explorer favorites then you have to do a restore to get them back

To perform a restore

1. Plug in the simplesave drive

2. Click Restore

3. Choose the backup you are wanting to restore from

4. Choose Restore only these files

5. Choose the path that the explorer favorites would be saved to

6. Choose location

7. Click ok

8. Restore

By default the save location of favotires is the documents and settings folder / user name / favorites

This takes into consideration that favorites is actually backed up by the simplesave application so you may have to look and see if they even exist within the drive.

Re: hp simple save

Hi, Thanks for the quick reply.  I will give you a kudos, but I haven't learned anything to help me yet. The most important word in your post was "if". "If" the favorites are actually in the favorites folder, "if" they even exist. I restored that folder back from the Simple Save backup, and then tried to import them back into Internet Explorer, but there was nothing usable in the folder.  I'm guessing that you have to first MANUALLY save your favorites once into that folder, THEN any Simple Save backup will copy it, and you could then restore from that copy.

Thanks again.

Re: hp simple save

Hello rowaytonfuel,

I think this may be beneficial to you.

HP SimpleSave Backup Software User Manual

The reason I used "If" quite a bit is because I don't know what you was backing up before. Based on what you are telling me I'm going to go with that you wasn't backing up the Internet Explorer favorites.

It the manual look down at section 5 page 9.

Here we see where we can set certain file extensions and locations to back up. This may need to be checked to verify you are backing up what you want to back up.

I believe by default Internet Explorer favorites should be backed up, but this setting may not be set on yours.
