Re: sleep mode

Did it work before? Have you installed any optional windows updates. You may want to try rolling back the graphics driver. You may also want to check if their is a firmware update relative to this issue for your computer at the support page.

Here is the help article for troubleshooting this issue assuming you have windows Vista: Click here

Re: sleep mode

My HP Pavilion desktop with Vista stopped coming out of hibernate after I tried downloading a couple of HP updates. One was for NVIDIA drivers & it did not download correctly. I have done considerable troubleshooting & tried numerous fixes with help of HP online chats, but nothing has worked so far. Computer still has to be turned off to be able to access it once it goes into hibernate. Any thoughts?

Re: sleep mode

Make sure you have Vista Service Pack 1 installed first.

You can reinstall all of your original driver through the program called Recovery Manager if an HP update truly messed up sleep mode.

It could the video card driver that got updated.

You you don't neccesarily need sleep mode then turn it off in the power options.
