Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi. I use a HP Elitedesk 800 G2 mini desktop and would like to connect 2 monitors with simular screen/display quality. The monitors are of type HP Elite Display E271i. The desktop have 3 port options (Display, HDMI and VGA).

 

The solution of 2 monitors is OK when I connect to both Display and VGA ports on the desktop. Then the quality of the monitor of VGA connection is not the same as the display connection. It's not possible to get the picture on the screen if I connect to HDMI. Why does this happend?

When using VGA and display port at the same time you will not get the same resolution simply because VGA is not capable of achieving the same res as Displayport or HDMI.

 

In order to use the HDMI input on the display, you will need to press the source control button on the front of the display to change the input.

Hi Erico. Thank for your quick responce. I've tried this but it doesn't help me. I've tried 2 different desktops with the same result. The one monitor says it will got to sleep, when I try to connect to the HDMI port in the middle. I use a HDMI to HDMI cable with an Display adapter in the end to connect the monitor. Maybe there is something wrong with the HDMI port in the desktop, but that will be strange....brand new one and with the same result for both desktops.

Please be more specific.

 

Which graphic solution does your desktop have?

 

With AMD Radeon and NVIDIA you have to go into the respective control panel to see if each display is recognized.

 

Have you used the control on the display as I suggested to set the input to HDMI?

That is unlikely to work.

 

Why don't you use the HDMI output on the desktop PC and the HDMI input on the display for the HDMI cable?  

When you add adapters to a  working cable it complicates the initial issue.
