Pavilion 23
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After this computer upgraded to Windows 10 (too late to revert, wipe and reinstall isn't an option) we have had an issue with the USB ports acting correctly.  When looking at the device manager, we noticed that there was a device that was having issues: USB xHCI Compliant Host Controller.  Under the hardware ID, it was listed as: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C31&SUBSYS_2B0D103C&REV_05 which seems to be an Intel USB controller.  Unfortunately, on the support site here, none of the drivers we've downloaded will correct/update the issue, nor will the driver updater from Intel.  Any ideas?

@ComputerMikeOBX,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with the USB port after upgrading to Windows 10.

This issue could occur if the USB drivers are not updated.

Let's go through a few steps to resolve this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the link to run Intel® Driver Update Utility: Intel® Driver Update Utility

Note: Please download and run the utility. It will give the option to install the update.

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
