Dear HP

How can I unblock the HP SetUP Manager?  I got this message:

"This app has been blocked for your protection".

I am trying to install the HP laser P1102 W printer to my computer

Thank you.

@docttran

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand you need assistance in installing the HP setup application,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you attempted to run the program with administrative rights to check if it works without the error message?

When was the last time it worked without this message?

Did you upgrade or install any antivirus software on your computer?

While you respond to that, here's something you should know about:

There are two ways of resolving this concern,

Solution one: Configure or Disable UAC settings:

Open User Account Control Settings by clicking the Start button and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type uac, and then click Change User Account Control settings.

  • To turn off UAC, move the slider to the Never notify position, and then click OK.

if you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. You will need to restart your computer for UAC to be turned off.

Solution two: Enable the administrative rights temporarily for each application that you wish to install:

Click here to watch a YouTube video that explains, How?

Keep me posted,

Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,

It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.
