Re: Stuck on f10.. Before it was preparing automatic repair. Can you help

Hello, @China2 - Greetings!

Thank you for joining the HP Forums! I read your post on HP Pavilion issue. I am happy to look into this issue for you Smiley Happy

Let's start by performing a power drain on the PC.

  1. Press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 10 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

If the computer comes on properly or even if the PC still goes to the BIOS, then shut down the PC and restart the PC. Press the "Esc" key immediately when the PC is turned on and check whether you are able to get into the startup menu.

Let me know if that helps!

Cheers Smiley Happy

Re: Stuck on f10.. Before it was preparing automatic repair. Can you help

Hello, @China2

Currently, is the PC going straight to F10 or the BIOS screen when you turn on the PC or do you get an error message on the start up?

What happened when you tried to access the startup menu by tapping the Esc immediately when you power on the PC?

Thanks, I look forward to hearing back from you!

Have a great day Smiley Happy

ESC didn't work. It goes straight to F10.

Re: Stuck on f10.. Before it was preparing automatic repair. Can you help

Hello, @China2

Let's try to perform a BIOS defaults on your PC. On the BIOS screen, Go to Exit menu -> Load Setup Defaults - Save the settings and restart the PC and check.

If the issue persists, then the issue could be with the PC hardware. I would suggest contacting the HP phone support for further assistance.

You can visit http://www.support.hp.com/contact-hp and fill in your product details to get the tech support number.

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

If you have any troubles, let me know and I will do my best to help!

Cheers Smiley Happy
