Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter which fixed a number of problems except 0x8024402.  I used the troubleshooter because (1) I kept getting the message that "Windows update can not currently check for updates because you must first restart the computer so that a previous installation can be completed."  (2) I have been unable to delete the Windows 10 reminder and unable to find the KB3035583 update which apparently governs the reminder.

Please advise.

@AlCharbonneau

Noted in your previous inquiry that you finally performed a "Recovery" on the hard drive.

Getting rid of that WIN 10 notification.

In reference to KB3035583 - read here to understand the update, and what it is.

This system is feedback driven thru Solution and Kudo flags. It's the only means of knowing if you have been served. Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

I didn't do the recovery opting instead to try deleting several updates that were contributing to the erratic behavior of my computer.  Other issues have occured with the computer so I may be doing the recovery after all.

Thanks for your response.
