HELP - mouse/keyboard issues

I just bought this god-forsaken computer 2 weeks ago.  The mouse constantly starts to flutter and will freeze in the taskbar surrounded by a blue "halo".  I cannot get it out of the taskbar.  Typing will cease without any warning and the touchscreen keypad will pop up and begin "typing" erratically.  Tabs will open up by themselves.  I am regretting buying this thing every second.  I use it for my business and it is useless.  I am on my old ProBook 4540 laptop now.  I tried calling HP support but they were equally useless.

Identifying you desktop PC as an All-in-One 24 series device is not so helpful.

Without that information I have no idea as to whether or not your mose and keyboard are wired or wireless.

Please provide the complete product name or product number.

I've tried both a wired and wireless keyboard and mouse.  I do NOT have HP SimplePass; that is all I see when I google this issue.  Seems that was the culprit prior to this nightmare.

So if I understand correctly, the issue is not mouse of keyboard, but the cursor freezing. Is that correct?

What is happening when the cursor freezes?

Are you using a browser or does it happen in a particular application?

The cursor starts to flicker and becomes very difficult to move around.  At the same time it appears in the taskbar with the blue "halo" around and consantly fiickers.  The cursor then gets stuck in that "halo" and I cannot get it to move out of the taskbar.  I reboot - nothing.  At times the touchscreen keyboard will then pop up and begin typing erratically.  Tabs will open up in my browser when I am working in email, etc.  I try to close them but the cursor will move on its own and open tabs on its own.  It is possessed.
