Product: Hp windows vista
My HP windows vista will not power the monitor,when I disconnect the monitor it powers on,when I connect it,it powers off the monitor.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you are having issues with the monitor. When you connect the monitor the computer is going off.

In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details and I would appreciate if you could, perhaps elaborate on your concern.

  • What is the model and product number of your computer?
  • What is the model of the monitor you are using?
  • How is the monitor connected to your computer? (VGA, DVI or HDMI)
  • When was the last time the computer was working fine?
  • Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
  • Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
