Same thing happens to me - this program crashes at startup. It however doesn't appear to cause any problems. I got tired of seeing the message at startup so I just uninstalled it. What does this program actually do - does one really need it?

Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that your computer too has the HP My Display Program and it crashed at the startup. So you uninstalled it and it does not appear anymore. I read that you would like to know what is the function of this program.

The HP My Display utility is a monitor control and calibration program that offers an easy step-by-step process for obtaining the best overall picture quality. The HP My Display utility guides users through the tuning process with easy-to-understand instructions and background patterns designed for each monitor control.

The utility is not fully compatible with Win10 as of now and an older version of the utility can be installed in compatibility mode if required.

I hope this answers your question. Cheers! 🙂
