I installed Windows Updates about a week ago. After my laptop restarted following the download the touch screen stopped working. I followed the Troubleshooting instruction which seemed to be on track, until it said to uninstall the driver then restart the PC to force the touchscreen to reinstall. There was no touchscreen driver to Uninstall and restarting the computer didn't force one to appear. I think I might need to reinstall the driver, but I don't know what driver I had in the first place or where to install it.
I called Microsoft support and they informed me I would need to reinstall the driver from HP. Problem is, that I don't know where the driver is located.

The touchscreen driver is provided by Windows 10. HP does not provide it.
I suggest that you use system restore to roll the operating system back to a checkpoint dated before the touchscreen stopped working.
