Thanks for the post.
I see you are getting unable to use the HDMI button the computer.
Don't worry, I will be glad to help.
Have you run HP Support Assistant or HP My Display?
May I have the model/product number of your computer? Click here for assistance.
Recommend you to run HP Support Assistant to make sure all the drivers are updated. Click here for assistance.
Also, make sure all the Windows updates are installed.
Please refer to this HP Forums post where the issue was resolved by using HP My Display.
However, HP My display is not available for Windows 10 yet. Click here.
Download My display for Windows 8.1 and once it is downloaded on the computer.
Right-click on the file and run in Windows 8.1 compatibility mode.
