@jh0nwick advice is good but I would like to add something.
If the mouse is Bluetooth then it will work with any Bluetooth receiver (dongle)
If you have one of the newer laptops it probably has Bluetooth built in and you can simply Add it as a Bluetooth device and then pair it. There is no need for a Bluetooth dongle if the laptops has it built in.
