Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-in-One Printer

My HP Office Jet Pro 9018 will not let me use my own/purchased HP ink cartridges after cancelling/using instant ink cartridges.  My printer now has an error message "cartridge cannot be used until printer is enrolled in HP instant ink".  Called instant ink and was told that they could help for $20 for this and $20 for that or else I could re subscribe to instant ink!! As if they are now holding my printer hostage until I pay additional fees!!! I have done several HP YouTube videos with NO success!!
