When I hove my mouse over my printer in 'Devices and Printers' the note says 'Status - not connected' yet the printer works satisfactorily.

@Jmac5

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP Photosmart 6525 e-All-in-One Printer and the printer works fine. However, when you hover the mouse over the printer in 'Devices and Printers' the note says "Status - not connected."

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is the printer connected via USB or a network?
  • Did this start recently or has been like this for long time?

Meanwhile, I did some research and looks like it has something to do with the printer drivers. I suggest you to download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor software correct anything with the printer drivers.

I hope this information helps. Please do not hesitate to reply for any further questions. Cheers! 🙂
