HP OfficeJet Pro 8720
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Printed colored photo using matte photo paper-Office Depot Professional brand.   Prints came out sopping wet with smeared ink-just awful.  They are still wet this morning!   I tried printing on just regular paper and the paper seemed damp after printing.   Called office depot tech, they have no clue as to why it is doing it.    they suggesting using new ink.  No way am I going to buy new ink just to find out that is not what the problem is!  I have an 8500A all in one that finally died after 8 years.  It did a beautiful job.  Is this machine having a mechanical problem?

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Sorry I can't help you but just let you know: HP, Canon, Epson .... all have printers and photos papers and they design papers to match their inks (they are all chemicals aren't they).

I actually did a test on an HP Officejet Pro (loan printer) not long ago using Kodak papers, Canon papers, no name papers (just in a plastic bag) and HP papers.

I did not have "wet" problem but output from other papers did not meet my test; only the following papers meet my test. This package of papers (100 A4 sheets) is cheaper then Kodak papers, roughtly same price with Canon papers and around 15% more expensive than the no name papers.
