Product: Laser jet pro M402n

I purchased this product with the specific purpose of printing addresses and return addresses on multiple envelopes. But even following the instructions in the brochure accompanying the printer I have been unsuccessful . In my old HP product

(printer-scanner-fax) I had no trouble printing multiple envelopes from a mail merge.

I tried to do mail merge on my new printer and got a message that there is an od error and my recipient list was wiped out. 

I tried with another list and received blank envelopes.

Please help me 

1. to print envelopes   110X230 with the opening flap on the wider side

2. can I get my recipient list back
