Hey! On May 19th, almost a month ago, I came home from the store and turned my laptop back on, to find that the audio didn't sound as high quality as usual. I went into Beats Audio Control Panel and clicked on "Listening Experience" to see if the Beats Audio was somehow disabled, and upon clicking that the control panel crashed. I Googled this issue, and found something that suggested I uninstall IDT Audio and reinstall it. So I did that, and while it took two or three restarts after reinstalling IDT Audio, the audio began working again and sounded normal.
The next morning, I turned my laptop on and recived a message telling me that it failed to connect to the System Event Notification Service, I've Googled the problem and tried nearly every solution people recommend (that I'm able to do at least, also I haven't tried reinstalling my OS because I don't want to loose everything). I got it to stop giving me the error for about a week, after I found that I had a Linksicle driver and I then uninstalled that, ran a scan with the free version of Malwarebytes and had it get rid of all the PUP and stuff it found, but then a few days ago the modem in our house was messing up, and as it was doing that I reset my laptop, and upon it turning on again I got the SENS error again. This now happens about 50% of the time I turn on my laptop.
A couple days ago I found that restarting the Themes service brings back the Aero theme that fails to appear when I get this error, so I'm not too annoyed at it booting up without Aero theme.
What does bug me a lot is what this thread is about. Ever since I started getting the SENS error I've also been getting an audio delay of about 5 - 10 seconds. For example, I'll open up Windows Explorer and start clicking around various folders, and it won't play the little click noise until the program's been open for about 10 seconds after I click on a folder. The recycle bin emptying noise is also about 10 seconds late most of the time. Playing files in Windows Media Player also takes longer, at least for the first file I play upon opening the program. If I'm listening to a playlist the next song will begin without delay.
If this was all that was happening I wouldn't mind too much. I can deal with Windows Explorer playing sounds late and mp3s taking a couple seconds to begin. But this problem is also affecting videos. And because I spend a significant amount of time on my laptop watching YouTube, it proves to be very annoying. When I go to a video it takes about five seconds to begin, as opposed to beginning immediately as it should. And if I leave a video unpaused for maybe more than 20 seconds, it'll give me the YouTube loading circle for about five seconds before starting again. Luckily if I'm watching a playlist and it goes to the next video, there is no delay for that starting.
At one point I decided to try uninstalling and reinstalling IDT Audio again, I believe a couple days before I scanned with Malwarebytes, and then after restarting the laptop Windows installed audio by itself, so I no longer have IDT Audio in my list of programs. I also tried restarting every audio related service in Services.msc this morning to see if there was a solution similar to restarting Themes bringing back Aero, but it didn't work.
So does anyone know how I could fix this audio delay? Even if it doesn't completely fix it and it's a step I have to do every time I start my laptop up just like restarting Themes that's fine. I'm just really annoyed at having to wait a few seconds whenever I have a video paused for over 20 seconds.
I was debating posting this in the Operating System and Recovery board due to the System Event Notification Service error, but since both problems started happening after an audio issue, I figured it belongs here instead.
I've been getting Event 6281 constantly in my Event Viewer ever since this problem began, the night I reinstalled IDT Audio. It reads:
"Code Integrity determined that the page hashes of an image file are not valid. The file could be improperly signed without page hashes or corrupt due to unauthorized modification. The invalid hashes could indicate a potential disk device error.
File Name: \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\SRSLabs\{176F4E15-8F7C-4833-ADED-81FAE8CCD186}\slcc3d64.dll"
Is slcc3d64.dll an audio related thing?

I solved it on my own this morning! I uninstalled IDT Audio again, and went to the SRSLabs folder in system32, to find that those two dlls, and another file, were still there. So I moved the SRSLabs folder into Documents so that they wouldn't affect anything, and restarted my laptop. Windows installed its own audio driver, and that solved the issue. I'm no longer getting Event 6281 in Event Viewer, and the audio delay is gone. The audio driver Windows installed on its own sounds just as good as the IDT Audio driver did too, so I'll be sticking with it!
Hopefully double posting is fine? I tried searching for a forum rules thread and couldn't find one.

I grasp that you are experiencing and issue with your audio being delayed. You have checked for viruses and malware and PUP was removed. You have tried different audio files to no avail.
I recommend that you only use the recommended HP drivers as manufacturers can and do alter some drivers to work correctly with that individual system. You could reinstall the original driver from the HP Recovery Manager:
HP PCs - Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)
You could also try running the Windows 7 repair tool:
Windows 7 Repair Disk download
If you have a known good restore point, (without the malware) you could try a Microsoft restore options:
HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7)
Although you have sound, the following link may also be helpful:

My product number is A6Y53UA#ABA.
I checked my restore points and I do not have any from before these problems began, so that is not an option. I'll try using the recommended drivers and see if that works.
EDIT: Just used Recovery Manager to reinstall IDT Audio. I'll be going to go to the store some time today and I'll turn off my laptop before I do that, and when I get back home I'll see if that worked.
Interestingly enough right after I reinstalled IDT Audio the delay went away, but only for about a minute.
EDIT 2: Back on my laptop, nothing seems different. Audio's still delayed and I'm still getting Event 6281.
