Hello.

After updating my OS to the Windows 10 Anniersary Update last week, my Beats Audio Control Panel has disappeared . The audio still plays but the equalizer settings I had set through Beats appear to not be in effect. IDT drivers appear to be installed and up to date according to Device Manager.

Thanks

Hmm..

  • Create a Restore Point
  • Download the Audio Driver from your computer's Driver Support page for Windows 10

Uninstall the driver from the Device Manager > reboot (or check for hardware changes) >

If the Driver is available in your File System, it will try to reinstall at boot / login >

Check results

If no joy:

If HP Drivers are available for Windows 10 for your computer:

Download and install the Chipset driver > reboot and log in

If the Audio Driver is available in your computer's Driver Support page:

Uninstall the driver from the Device Manager AND tick the box to delete the driver >

Reboot and log in >

Install the driver from your computer's Support Driver page.

I lost my sound after the first Update to the Anniversary Update.  "Looked OK", but the only sound I had was coming out of my second monitor's speakers, which had been set as Default when the "Speakers" disappeared.   Meh.

Regardless of what the Device Manager is telling you, you may want to install your HDT Audio driver for Windows 10.

Your System, one of nine models: "Envy m6 Sleekbook" (9)

I downloaded and ran the appropriate driver installation. The file extraction step happened, but no actuall installer ever launched. Now when I try to rerun the installer, it says "The process cannot access the fle because it is already in use by an other process"

I just checked; the Beats Audio Panel is present in Programs and Features.

Change / Uninstall is available.

Assuming the Driver is in place in the Device Manager, you might get away with "Change".

That did the trick (uninstalling and restarting).

Now on to the slew of other problems updating to the AU seems to have created...(worth it for the new linux subsystem that comes with the AU? Possibly.)

Thanks!
