Hi @EuropeanTrust,
I read the post comprehensively and reviewed it.
Thanks for replying. You've tried all possible troubleshooting. Great effort. Kudos to you for that.
Please try these steps:
- Go to device manager (You can give a right click on windows logo on bottom left corner of your screen and select device manager from the list)
- Now maximize the “Sound, video and game controllers” from the list. You will see the audio driver. Right-click on “IDT high definition audio CODEC” and select “Update driver software”.
- Select “Browse my computer for driver software” – Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.
- Select “High Definition Audio Device” (Not IDT High Def... This is important) and click Next. You will get a warning message but reply “Yes”.
- Once windows have successfully updated the driver software, try playing the audio again and check.
If this does not fix it, then I would suggest that you back up your files completely and then perform a complete system recovery on the computer to factory settings and then update windows again. This should do the trick for you.
Link for system recovery: http://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04758961 and select the option "Recovery when Windows 10 does not start correctly". This should fix it for you.
I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes for further assistance.
Feel free to post your query for any other assistance as well,
It's been a pleasure interacting with you and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Well I know all basics how to do everything. I'i tech guy working in IT for more than ten years. But in this case everytime Win10 updates we get big issues with Beats audio. This time with Fall update situation is the same. I tried more than 10 IDT driver packages made by HP for lot of different notebooks. Somehow I was success to get Beats audio panel works, but after more trying different drivers, no luck at final stage.
So what do we need? We need Bass to work, also we have 4 speakers in entertaiment models and all Bass panel with equalizers. How to install driver is not problem even setup.exe not works, but where to get good drivers for Win10 x64, give me advice HP tech support?
**bleep** you forget models like mine long long ago, no solution for switchable graphics, no solution for audio's and fingerprint readers and I can tell more and more... I realy love HP quality, have lot of notebooks, but why you cant give us what we need, its support.
If you tell me its old system, no need to support it. I can replay to you. Its system with 8 cores fast i7 CPU, 12GB RAM, 256 SSD + 1TB HD, good audio, 17 inch and two graphic systems. Is it looks old to you and not worth working fine in Win10?
Thanks

Hi @EuropeanTrust,
As I understand you are having issues with the audio not working properly, I did go through the Software and driver download page and found that there are no software and drivers available for Windows 10. This could be the reason why you are having issues with the audio.
In order to prove the functionality, I would suggest you revert back to Windows 7 which was originally shipped with this PC and check if that helps.
If you haven't created a set of recovery media for your PC, since this is a pretty old computer and the recovery media would no longer be available online or through phone support. So I would suggest you can install a retail version of Windows.
I hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
