Elitebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My external speakers, which worked correctly on my previous laptop, now make a constant buzzing noise with my Elitebook. When testing the sound, the playback sound comes through, but the buzzing is still there, and the sound is quieter than when played through teh laptops internal speakers.

Other headphones work just fine when plugged into the laptop.

Thinking this was a power loop issue, I plugged the speakers in question into different outlets, but no luck. I also checked that the speakers still work, using my phone, and they worked properly with that device.

My husband thinks that perhaps the connection between these particular speakers and this particular Elitebook just happens to be problematic.

What else can we test???

P.S. This Elitebook is a refurbished machne. Maybe it's a little beat up internally?
