Hi, I was watching a CD on my ENVY m6 last night and everything was working fine. Today I have the speaker icon with a red cross in the lower right corner of the screen and when hovering over it says "No audio output device is installed". I tried uninstalling the device driver but that didn't fix it it.
The device driver "IDT High Definition Audio Codec" under Sound, video and game controllers in Device Manager also has a yellow exclamation mark. When I uninstall and reboot, it just comes up again with the yellow mark. If I try to upgrade the driver, I get an error message "Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it. A device attached to the system is not functioning".
