Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

There is a five-second hum at the beginning of any sound (e.g., email notice, playing a music file) whenever I plug a headphone or external spaker into the headphone jack. I have tested with a variety of headphones and external speakers -- problem still persists.

 

HP Tech Support has reinstalled the speaker drive six times.  Problem still not solved.
