Hi!

I was just able to get my 450 G3 sound working with this answer on askubuntu:

http://askubuntu.com/questions/700167/no-sound-on-ubuntu-15-10

I'll also copy in the instructions in case HP removes the link:

I found the solution (!), create a new file /etc/modprobe.d/intel.conf

add the following options:

options snd-hda-intel single_cmd=1
options snd-hda-intel probe_mask=1

reboot....

**NOTE: I'd make sure, if you have any data on there, that you back it up, just in case (I ran into no problems, though).  I'm  Linux system admin, and I still make sure I have a recent backup of any system I make system modifications on, just to be safe.

Meanwhile, there's a similar bug report and a solution for HP Probook 470 G3 at

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=112731

The patch was merged in kernel 4.4.4 (works on HP Probook 430 G3 over here).

(According to ALSA-Configuration.txt, single command mode should be avoided as much as possible.)

Just upgrade kernel version to 4.4 or higher. It solved my problem on 450 G3.
