Hi @Mking37
Welcome to the HP Forums!
It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you are having issues with the audio on your computer.
Don’t worry, I’d love to help!
Follow below steps and check if it helps.
Method 1:
First, run the audio troubleshooter and check if that helps:
Audio troubleshooter can help fix certain issues. Follow these steps:
a. On the Start search, type 'Find and fix problems' and choose that option.
b. Under 'Troubleshooting' window, click on 'Hardware and Sound'.
c. Click on 'Playing Audio'.
Follow the onscreen instruction.
Method 2:
If that does not help, let us try installing the audio driver in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
a. First, remove the audio driver from Device Manager.
From Control Panel, Devices and Driver, find Audio inputs and Outputs.
Right-click on the audio driver and choose 'Uninstall driver'.
Restart the PC.
b. Now, from Sony website, install the driver for this model(Sony Vaio).
Now, to install this driver in compatibility mode, follow these steps:
a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.
b. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
c. In the Package Name Properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
d. Click to select the Run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8/8.1 with which it is compatible with in the Run this program in compatibility mode for list, and then click OK.
e. Double-click the executable file to start the installation program.
Let me know how it goes and you have a good day ahead.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care!
Cheers!
