Hi @Pancakes115,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the built-in speakers of your Victus By HP Gaming Laptop 15 are not being recognized in the audio settings, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check Device Manager: Open Device Manager and look for any exclamation marks or warnings next to the audio devices. If there are any, it could indicate a driver issue.
  • Update Audio Drivers: If there are issues with the audio drivers, you can try updating them. You can do this by right-clicking on the audio device in Device Manager and selecting "Update driver."
  • Restart Audio Services: Sometimes restarting audio services can resolve issues. Press Win + R, type "services.msc", and hit Enter. Look for Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder. Right-click each one, select "Restart," and then restart your computer.
  • Check Sound Settings: Sometimes the speakers might be disabled or set to a very low volume. Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray, select "Open Sound settings," and ensure that the correct output device is selected and the volume is turned up.
  • Run Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has built-in troubleshooters that can automatically fix common problems. You can access them by going to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Playing Audio.
  • Check for Windows Updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes, updates can include fixes for hardware compatibility issues.
  • BIOS Update: In some cases, a BIOS update might resolve hardware-related issues. However, updating the BIOS carries some risks, so proceed with caution and follow HP instructions closely.
  • Hardware Check: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's possible that there's a hardware problem with the speakers themselves.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and hopefully resolve the issue with your laptop's speakers not being recognized in the audio settings.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
