Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am having the same problem as many other people are having. When starting the windows logo comes up and then it goes to a black screen. When i start it i have tried pressing all the f buttons f1 f2 f3 f8 f9 f10 f11. I know the keyboard is working as it comes up in the bottom left corner saying witch button i have pressed. It just goes into the windows logo no madder what i do. I have unpluged the hard drive and started it up. It come up with a diffrent screen that says press f2 with gets me to a place where i can test the memery and the harddrive. I tested both and they both say they are working. Also i have tryed unpluging the battery and holding the power button, witch i have done 3-4 times but nothing seams to change. Any help would be great thanks. =D

Hi,

What is the full model name, product number of your laptop?

Which operating system came pre installed from factory?

Have you created HP Recovery USB using HP Recovery Manager after first setup of this notebook? Use this recovery media to do a repair.

You have already tested hard drive extensively from System Diagnostics UEFI/BIOS and it passed the tests, am I correct? If yes, that means you can access BIOS and the causative problem is Windows OS.

If your laptop is installed with Windows 8.1, you can try repair install Windows 8.1 - follow this useful tutorial: https://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/26095-repair-install-windows-8-a.html
