Hi @DBLUVED1 ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Product. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.
Here's the situation with a second-hand HP Chromebook locked by AchievementFirst.org administrator:
- Restricted Chromebook: School administrators often implement restrictions on Chromebooks to manage student activity. On a second-hand device, these restrictions remain.
- Limited Options: Bypassing these restrictions can be difficult and often contravenes the school's policies. Here are some approaches, but proceed with caution:
1. Contact AchievementFirst.org (Preferred):
- This is the safest and most recommended approach. AchievementFirst.org might be able to help remove their administration if you are the legitimate owner. Explain you acquired the Chromebook second-hand and provide any proof of purchase you have.
2. Powerwash (Resets to Factory Settings):
- This removes all data and settings, including the school administrator's lock. However, it also erases your data.
- Search for "How to Powerwash a Chromebook" online for specific steps.
3. Developer Mode (Caution Advised):
- Enabling Developer Mode bypasses some restrictions but can be risky. It may void warranties and make the Chromebook unstable. Not recommended unless you're comfortable with technical procedures.
- Search for "Enable Developer Mode Chromebook" at your own risk.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
