I'm interested in getting an Envy 17-r107na and locking it down.
I intend to encrypt the hard drive. But I'd like to further lock the sysetm down by preventing the user from selecting an alternate boot device unless they have the BIOS password to reconfigure the allowed devices. Can this be configured through BIOS?
I've had previous HP laptops where you could disable some alternate boot devices, but not all. I.e. if you used the Boot Device Menu, you could still select boot from USB and run an alternate operating system to examine the built in hard drive.
If I had the machine in front of me I'd probably be able to tell by playing with the BIOS settings, but I don't want to buy one if I can't lock it down.
Can someone tell me if this is possible?
