Thanks for your help in advance. I have an (ancient) HP Elitebook 8440p that I was attempting to install CloudReady on. CloudReady turns your laptop into a Chromebook essentially. I was having trouble getting the standalone version to work, and one of the recommended solutions was a BIOS upgrade. So I downloaded the 8440p BIOS, tossed it on a flash drive, and held Windows Key + B. The screen did not turn on, but the fan kicked on full blast and stayed this way for about half an hour. I figured it wasn't working, so I pulled the battery. Now when I boot the laptop up, I get a BIOS Application Error (501). HP Support says updating via USB is not possible. Any other way to do this?
EDIT: There is no OS on the laptop, that was wiped during the attempted CloudReady installs.
