3005pr USB 3.0 Port Replicator
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I'm having an issue with an HP 3005pr USB 3 Port Replicator. My problem is that I can only get the attached laptop (HP ZBook 17 G3) to boot into Windows (7 x64 Enterprise) without requesting the Bitlocker key when the 3005pr is either attached or when it is not attached but not both.

When I first attached the HP 3005pr I had an issue with the laptop attempting to boot from the port replicator but I fixed that by changing the boot order in the BIOS. After that I got the Bitlocker key request screen, I entered the key and followed the suggested instructions to allow the port replicator to work with bitlocker (disable and then re-enable bitlocker from Windows). This worked fine until I tried to use the laptop without the port replicator, I then got the Bitlocker key request screen again.

What do I need to do to set up the laptop to be able to boot Windows with the port replicator attached and not attached without having to enter the Bitlocker key for one of these?

At the moment I am trying to remember to attach the port replicator once Windows has started to boot
