Thank you for posting on HP Forums,
The Riddle_Decipher is at your service.
As I Understand the notebook doesn't boot into windows,
Apart from the other tests you've mentioned, the Hard Drive failed short DST check confirms a hardware failure,
You have two options, you can either reseat the HDD and re-run the hardware test or contact HP for a hard drive replacement,
Alternatively, you can also contact HP Parts store for replacing the hardware components: Click here
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.

Thank you for the update,
I appreciate your time and efforts,
I'm glad you found the solution you were looking for,
And to answer your question, If you get the hard drive replaced via HP, the factory software AKA Recovery program would be stored as a partition in-built to your pre-installed OS on the new drive, However, If you get it a replacement locally, you'll need to remember two things:
- Use the same speed and size as the original HDD if you wish to use the recovery media purchased from HP
- Or get a retail version of the OS from a local store, if you wish to upgrade or download to different size or speed of HDD.
Thanks for taking the time to let the community know about the solution
